A modern, cloud-based accountant is no longer just a number cruncher.
It was a great pleasure to be invited to speak at the TechHub event held yesterday at the Google for Startups Campus in Central London.
We were asked to speak to an audience of tech start ups about cloud accounting, Research & Development tax relief available to them, as well as attracting investment through SEIS investor schemes.
Afterwards we held one to one surgery sessions to discuss the issue these businesses were facing day to day. This brought some of London’s most ambitious founders from less developed startup ecosystems to a space to learn and connect with expert startup accounting resources.
The Google for Startups Campus in London is a place for founders, VCs, and community leaders in London needing the space for meetings, mentoring, events, and hackathons, to contribute to what has become the third-largest global startup ecosystem. Since then there have been wonderful programs for growth-stage startups, served as a home for partner organisations such as TechHub, Seedcamp, and Code First Girls.
Update January 2022: An update from Campus London
We’re closing Campus to support startups throughout the UK. In the nearly 10 years since we opened the first Google for Startups (GFS) Campus in London, we’ve seen different ways in which our seven-story building near “Silicon Roundabout” could best serve our community. Our approach to supporting startup communities around the world, and leveling the playing field for all founders to succeed, is one that we tailor to each community we work with through our programs, our global partner network, and our other six Campus spaces. We look forward to continuing to serve local startup communities as they go from strength to strength as Google for Startups UK. More here
